What Went Well: Our group had a great time serving cookies and drinks to participants in the X-Games.
What we could Improve On: More organization of the events would have been helpful. Our group got a lot of questions about event times, but they were not specified for us.

Planning Steps to Accomplish Event: I connected with Jean Jasmine, volunteer coordinator at Hospice and Homecare, to see if APO could assist in their Light up a Life project. Over the course of a week I gathered members to participate and she kept me updated on when she needed us to volunteer. Stars were sold at the Nugget Mall to hang on a tree. Money raised benefited Hospice and Homecare’s grief counseling program.
What Went Well: The best aspect of the project was the communication between the coordinator of the project and myself. Jean was very excited to have APO participate in Light up a Life. She's also been contacting me about more volunteer opportunities recently which means she likes the work we do. That's very encouraging. Attendance at the event was also great, our members got excited to go and met a lot of new people through the event.
What we could Improve On: This project was an overall success; I wouldn't have changed anything.

Planning Steps to Accomplish Event: Volunteers connected with the Peer Advocates on campus and got instructions for the project. Flyers were posted around housing and campus along with “dead bodies” outlined in tape to explain the dangers of smoking.
What Went Well: The flyers brought on a lot of debate and everyone took notice to them. The hope is that they would have stopped someone from starting or continuing to smoke.
What we could Improve On: This project went very well. The only thing that would have improved project would have been a need for more people to help.

Project Name: Winter Safety
Date of Project: November 6th-8th, 2005
Length of Project in Hours: 5
Number of Members Attending: 14
Size of Chapter: 15
Total Hours: 25
Location: UAS Housing, 4 local libraries, and 10 local grocery stores
Coordinated By: Tara Fritzinger
Planning Steps to Accomplish Event: Our group got together and brainstormed ideas for National Service Week on November 2nd. We decided to have a winter safety theme and planned on making flyers to distribute to local grocery stores and libraries. The flyers had information on winter emergency items to have in your home and safe snow removal at your residence. Four members researched information and created the fyler design; two people helped put together the flyer packets for each store or library; four people distributed the flyers; and four people will take them down on November 17th.
What Went Well: The businesses were very excited about our efforts and were glad to post our flyers. And having the project occuring over the course of a few days really helped get more people involved.
What we could Improve On: More planning time would have been helpful in designing more effective flyers.
